The Center for Commercial-Free Public Education
What's the deal with all this talk of "captive audiences?" Why should you care if they put in a Pepsi machine in the hallway? Or paint a giant swoosh on your gym? Or force you to spend hours a day on a computer that runs ads for sweatshop clothing? The Center is dedicated to promoting commercial-free environments in schools. They can help you oust the corporations from your campus!

Center for Community Change
The Center for Community Change is committed to reducing poverty and rebuilding low income communities. To do this, we help people to develop the skills and resources they need to improve their communities as well as change policies and institutions that adversely affect their lives. We believe that poor people themselves -- through organizations they control -- need to lead efforts to eliminate poverty. The Center for Community Change helps grassroots leaders build strong organizations that bring people together to become a force for change in their communities.

Center for Environmental Citizenship
This is as comprehensive a environmental action/information site for students can get. It includes student news features, toolkits and information essential for campus organizing as well as a place to sign up for EarthNet, a weekly listserve full of information about jobs, events, resources and action alerts.

CoMotion
CoMotion is about learning to tackle a problem in your community through action and mobilization. CoMotion works to build youth activism by providing training and technical assistance to youth led efforts on the issue of gun violence across the country. Ideafund aims to be a haven for those with social action ideas. It will connect innovative ideas with the mentors, knowledge, partnerships, and funding to transform them into actionable plans.

Jewish Fund for Justice Funder's Collaboraitve on Youth Organizing
The Funders' Collaborative on Youth Organizing (FCYO) is a collective of national, regional and local grantmakers dedicated to advancing youth organizing as a strategy for youth development and social justice. Our mission is to substantially increase philanthropic investment in and strengthen the organizational capacities of youth organizing groups across the country.

LegalKids.com
This is the site started by Clayton Giles fourteen year old who started Legal Kids to give children of divorce, like himslef, a place to interact. Giles' hunger strike -- an effort to have a voice about his father's custody rights -- has received much media attention. Check out his site and hear his own voice -- to go beyond the hype.

People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals(PETA)'s College Activist.com
Although this site is very specific in its focus on animal rights-related activism, its' Guide to College Activism page has a detailed description of the process one can follow to start an activist organazation on campus-everything from tips on running meetings, to researching the facts to speaking publicly. It's well put together and can be applied to activism around almost any issue. Check it out!

SouthWest Organizing Project

Urban Think Tank
Urban Think Tank uses scholarly activism to give voice to members of the Hip-Hop generation and influence public policy by providing a forum for discussion of Hip-Hop music, culture and politics.

Youth Activism
